About the role

We are now looking for a Process Engineer who will develop a deep understanding of Bio-Works' manufacturing processes and drive their continuous improvement. You will be R&D's technical expert on manufacturing-related matters and an important link between R&D and Production.

This is a hands-on role in which you will work with process development, experiments, troubleshooting and data analysis to improve process robustness, efficiency, quality and scalability. You will work closely with Production, Quality and other functions to turn technical knowledge into sustainable solutions.

Key responsibilities

· Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of manufacturing processes, critical process parameters, raw materials, equipment and product quality.

· Lead and execute projects to investigate and resolve process and manufacturing problems using a structured, data-driven approach.

· Plan and carry out experiments at laboratory, pilot and production scale.

· Identify root causes of deviations, variability, yield losses and quality issues, and develop effective corrective actions.

· Define and improve process specifications, operating windows, control strategies and relevant process documentation.

· Analyse process data and use statistical methods to identify trends and support fact-based decisions.

· Drive change control, troubleshooting, risk assessments, and continuous improvement activities in manufacturing.

· Ensure that knowledge and lessons from investigations and development work are transferred into Production.

· Support the development of new products by ensuring that processes are manufacturable, robust and suitable for scale-up.

Who are you

You have strong analytical skills and enjoy moving between scientific understanding, experimental work and practical manufacturing challenges. You drive your work independently, take ownership of progress and collaborate effectively across functions with the company's overall objectives in mind.

· MSc in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Applied Chemistry or another relevant field.

· Practical experience of process development and optimisation in a manufacturing environment.

· Experience of experimental design, data analysis, structured problem-solving and root cause analysis.

· Ability to document and communicate technical conclusions clearly and effectively.

· Very good command of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

Preferred qualifications

· Experience from life science process industry

· Knowledge of quality management systems, deviation management and change control.

· Experience of polysaccharide chemistry.

· Experience of manufacturing agarose-based resins.
